Jumpcut Academy Review – Is it Really Worth the Money?

You are probably here because of the YouTube Influencer 101 course, or maybe you’ve seen some ads on Facebook about the Jumpcut’s Viral Academy.

I’m sure you are curious if this is the real deal and whether you can actually make good money being a YouTuber.

You’ve come to the right place, because in this Jumpcut Academy Review, I am going to share with you everything you need to know in order to make an informed decision.

Jumpcut Academy was founded by Jesse and Kong who are YouTube Stars having millions of subscribers to their YouTube channel, the Simple Pickup.

Their mission is to teach you how to be a YouTube star following their footsteps.

The thing is, there is no guarantee of anything that you do, and thinking that the Jumpcut Academy course is your insurance for success, is a big mistake.

You see, the YouTube stars themselves have failed many times before finding actual success. They definitely didn’t become successful on their first try.

So, if you have the right attitude, the openness to new ideas, the eagerness to learn, and an undying determination to succeed, then the Jumpcut Academy may be the right course for you to pursue as a YouTuber.

Why Jumpcut Academy?

Some people have argued that the information taught in the Jumpcut Academy is freely available on YouTube itself, but honestly, what isn’t freely available these days, right?

For example, why do you go to school to study economics when there are so many free online courses about economics? Why bother spending $50k or more to learn stuff in school that can be easily found online?

The reason is simple, you want to learn a subject or a topic in a structured manner, and in a classroom style where your work will be assessed.

It’s the same thing with Jumpcut Academy. You’ll learn everything you need to know to become a successful YouTuber in a structured way (less a certificate that may or may not get you a job).

Plus, you are not learning from people who have no practical knowledge (just like the teachers in school), you are learning from people who actually did become successful in what they do.

You see, to be successful in anything, it is not only about the training and support, it is also about the consistency.

You have to incorporate a good set of work ethics and daily routine for your YouTube business.

And in Jumpcut Academy, you’ll be learning from the best, and you’ll be guided to incorporate those good habits through regular tasks and assignments which will teach you how to shoot, edit and post videos.

Those videos will be assessed by the assigned instructors and the other group members.

Who are the Instructors of Jumpcut Academy?

There is a total of 7 instructors as of the date of this review (23 February 2018), and together that have a total of more than 15 Million subscribers to their YouTube Channels.

These instructors know what they are talking about because they started from the ground up.

Yes, there are YouTubers who teaches all this stuff about making money with YouTube, but most of them have nothing to show for.

These instructors are the real deal. They earn a sh*tload of money producing videos on YouTube.

The FREE YouTube Infuencer 101 Course

If you haven’t watched the 4 videos in the YouTube Influencer 101 Course, I suggest you do so because you will get a good grasp of what the Jumpcut Academy is all about.

So, let’s see what you can learn from these videos……

Jumpcut-YouTube-Influencer-101-Course

“Whatever your interest as a creator are, your 1,000 true fans are 1 click from you. Everything made, or thought of, can interest at least one person in a million – It’s a low bar. The trick is to practically find those fans, or more accurately, to have them find you” ~ Kevin Kelly

This is a simple analogy for anyone to become successful online. All you need is just 1,000 true fans, but…..

How do you find them and what exactly must you create to attract them?

Honestly, these are the questions that I struggled with when I first started out as an online entrepreneur.

You basically need someone to provide you with a framework that will guide you to answer those questions, otherwise it will be difficult for anybody to ever start something successful.

Before I watched this video, I didn’t know that Youtubers are paid that much to produce videos.

$500 of ad revenue for 500,000 views, and $20,000 for creating sponsored videos for a brand deal (a few days of work).

What intrigues me is that Youtubers can pick whatever interest or passion they have and turn them into videos that actually make money.

You are basically paid to pursue your passion, and that’s just great!

Here’s exactly what you’ll learn…

A step-by-step system to build profitable YouTube Channels

Video #1: The Channel Idea Scorecard

Jesse introduces the concept of the Channel Idea Scorecard.

The first thing to do is to list a bunch of ideas that you are passionate about, or something that you considered a hobby.

It can be playing video games, or watching drama series, they are things that you wish someone will pay you to do.

After that, you’ll run through the ideas with a 3 step formula to find the best idea to start a profitable YouTube channel.

The 3 step formula consists of 3 questions, “How big is the audience?”, “How much do people care?”, and “How passionate are you?”.

Score those questions for each idea between 1 to 5.

By the end of the video, I am quite positive that you will find the one idea you’ll work on to build a YouTube Channel.

But, you must be thinking that there are already lots of YouTubers who have the same idea as you, how can you compete with them.

So, in the last part of the 1st video, Jesse leaves you with a huge cliffhanger as he describes “The Remix Strategy” that will allow you to penetrate a highly competitive niche and still create a profitable YouTube Channel.

Video #2: The Remix Strategy

Honestly, I never thought that there is a formula to create viral videos.

I always thought that being viral is pure luck. So I am told it is not, and I am intrigued.

The problem is, if you just blindly copy whatever the viral video does, and you are hoping to achieve the same results, you’ll be in for a shock.

To be successful in creating a viral video, it has to be unique, and that’s where The Remix Strategy comes in.

The Remix Strategy allows you to leverage on the proven concepts of the viral video, and still having your video feel fresh.

Here’s what’s interesting about The Remix Strategy, you need find content that was already viral (because they are proven to work) and they must somewhat related to your niche.

Then, you add a twist to the concept and make it fresh.

This is what The Remix Strategy is all about.

At the end of the video, you’ll be left with yet another cliffhanger when Jesse talks about the next advance tactic called the “Trades of Virality”.

Jumpcut is Good… But This is Better! Check it out!

Video #3: Trades of Virality

In this video, you will learn the specific psychological triggers that you can embed in your videos to get people to share it.

Having analyzed a ton of viral content, Jesse has found commonalities on those contents that triggers people to share them.

One Setback

One thing I didn’t learn from the Jumpcut Academy was Video Editing.

I thought that video editing is a large part of creating viral content.

However, I also know that there are a lot of free guides on YouTube that teaches people how to edit their videos.

Maybe that’s why Jumpcut Academy thinks it is not necessary to create instructional guides about video editing.

So, The Jumpcut Viral Academy is great, but how much does it cost?

There are 2 options:

  1. $997 for the Lifetime Access; or
  2. $197 per month

Now, the cost sets you thinking, is it really worth the money to learn these information?

In my opinion, if you are serious about finding success as a YouTuber, it is worth every penny.

If you don’t have enough cash right now, I’ll find ways to earn it (either you work for it or whatever, but just don’t borrow with interest).

Anyway, the Viral Academy is not available throughout the year.

Don’t worry if you don’t find success with the Viral Academy because they provide a 365 days Money Back Guarantee.

The 365 days Money Back Guarantee

Is the guarantee for real? I saw someone who didn’t manage to get a refund.

Here’s the thing, because Jumpcut Viral Academy is so confident that you can achieve success after completing the course, they literally provide you with a 365 days of money back guarantee.

It takes time to be successful, and given a year to find your success is quite reasonable.

If you can prove that you have done whatever it takes to find success in the year, but you didn’t achieve any results, they will definitely give you a full refund.

You have to be genuine.

This guarantee is not for procrastinators who watched the training videos and do nothing about it.

My Final Thoughts

Success doesn’t come right away like any kind of business. Even with the top notch support and training that you get from Jumpcut’s Viral Academy, you still won’t find success if you don’t work on your YouTube Business on a daily basis.

One of the biggest problems most YouTubers struggle with is to be entertaining and funny. Let’s be honest, when you watch a person talking monotonously, how long does it take for you to close the browser? I would say immediately.

So, in the Jumpcut Viral Academy, you’ll be taught how to be entertaining throughout your videos.

And of course, you won’t immediately be funny or entertaining, it takes a hell lot of practice and training, meaning, you have to work on your craft every single day.

This is a scam everybody. I signed up and tried hard for a whole year. They are really repetitive in their videos and I couldnt get a refund. Dont fall for the trap

  2. That was a great review. I subscribed to the emails but didn’t get a chance to read them when they were sending them to me so I was having trouble getting information because I didn’t know everything was time sensitive. This article answered all my questions. Great writing.

    1. Thanks for your compliment LaShaun! I’m glad that helped.

      Cheers!

  3. Hello Jack!

Thank you for providing the article. How do I communicate with with little privacy?

The course is priced well within what a premier digital product would cost, in fact, I think it’s underpriced for the value.

You are paying for expertise and guidance. For example how to choose a winning channel, how to create viral content, monetizing, how to stand out, etc. You can hunt and peck around the Internet for years, and you wouldn’t get a course that’s organized, from top producers.

I have purchased Jumpcut Academy 2.0 and have enjoyed learning about what makes a successful YouTube channel.

The “repeat” lessons are worksheets to accompany the video lessons, so that’s a value added. You can go back and review the lessons or some people prefer to read them.

You also get access to a forum of YT entrepreneurs, a video review section, a bootcamp where you go through 12 video creation exercises, like a challenge.

There is one article buried in the lessons, I forget where, that contains a list of each trainer’s favorite YT channels and why they are successful. This is literally a gold mind of expertise.

There are also some extra lessons on branding, vlogging, FB growth hacking. Again, jump on it before the price goes up because it’s worth way, way more.

P.S. I am not an affiliate, so I don’t get paid for this promotion. If you want a chance at YT success, this is as good a course as you’ll find from people that have already blazed the trail.

P.P.S. As for the “fluff” lessons, there are none. Some people need a good kick in the pants to even get started. So yes, there is rah, rah, at the beginning. But if people didn’t procrastinate, there wouldn’t be a lesson for it and you wouldn’t know you needed it.

    That’s my two cents.

  5. Hello–This review seems like a paid promotion for Jumpcut Academy. Not much objective info. We all know a downside is how expensive it is.

    1. Yup! That is obvious. Price is steep, but would you trade it to learn from the best? I know I would. I am just sharing what I think it is about the program. I didn’t get paid for writing this review though.

      Cheers!
      ~Jack (BareNakedScam)

    2. I don’t consider that expensive in comparison to some Real Estate courses ranging 25k-100k and the instruction who supposively make you successful is only willing to talk with you for 30 minutes a week for 6 weeks and then you are on your own whether you make anything or not.

  6. Hi,

    Okay let me be real.

I don’t believe this is a scam. These guys definitely know what you’re doing. They make a very compelling case in your 4 video “primer” presentation to purchase your course. Even though I already knew there would be an upsell in the end of the 4 “primer” videos (I even told my girlfriend before watching video 4 the price would be $997 exactly), although you constantly mentioned in the first 3 videos you were giving this information for FREE.

I am a You Tube enthusiast, a musician and blogger, and have over 80 videos on You Tube. One of my You Tube videos on one of my channels has over 16,000 views even though I did nothing with it. Basically just uploaded it and forget it. So yes, I know I need to learn how to monetize my past and future You Tube videos. That’s why I am very interested in your course.

I own my own business and have an entrepreneurial spirit and I am involved in entrepreneur online communities. In the past, I have purchased a few courses on how to monetize online marketing campaigns through social media, e-commerce, blogging, etc. which in total cost me several thousand dollars, most of which produced disappointing results, even though I followed all the lessons step-by-step and took the prescribed actions on the courses.

Here is the problem I am having with the course “syllabus”. When you scroll down near the bottom of Jesse’s most recent email “I’m Not Proud of This” which outlines all 5 modules, if you pay careful attention to the details you can see ALL the lesson titles included in each of the 5 modules.

Based on ALL lessons included in all 5 of the modules, apparently their course contains a lot of “fluff.” Of the total of 49 lessons within the 5 Modules, 19 lessons are duplicates. So in reality, for $997, I am not getting 49 lessons, I am only getting 30 lessons. Severely diminished value. If I am spending $997 of my hard-earned money, I would expect that NOT ONE LESSON would be repeatable, let alone 19 lessons!

See this for yourself. Go to Jesse’s email today on March 28 entitled “I’m Not Proud of This” and click on ANY one of the 5 Module images within the body of the email. (See screenshot)

This will bring you to the Video #4 screen. Scroll way down near the bottom to “What’s Included in Jumpcut Academy 2.0? (After the “Introducing Jumpcut 2.0” with the blue time counter following)

    Here is what I mean.

Module One: “Social Media Secrets” there are 2 duplicate lessons which are:

    -Do Not F**king Procrastinate
-Roadmap to a Profitable You Tube Career

Module Two: “Launching Your Channel” there are 4 duplicate lessons which are:

    -Finding your Channel Direction
-Coming up with a Magical Idea
    -Equipment: What Matters and doesn’t
    -Making Something you Love

Module Three: “Viral Marketing Masterclass” there are 5 duplicate lessons which are:

    -Growth Hacking
    -Traits of Virality
    -The Remix Strategy
    -InfoTainment Strategy
    – Think Big

Module Four: “Influence Intel” there are 4 duplicate lessons which are:

    – Why You Need a Hacker’s Mentality
    – Set a Goal for Yourself
    – Getting Your First 10,000 Subscribers
    – Building Your Audience with Online Communities

Module Five: “Paid to Promote” there are 4 duplicate lessons which are:

    – Priming then Pitching
    – Case Study: 6 Ways to Monetize
    – How to Bank on Brand Deals
    – Information Product Blueprint

Even without considering the “obvious” duplicate lessons, one can also easily argue that the entire Module One “Social Media Secrets” essentially appears to be a “pep talk” with lessons titles such as “Fail Your Way to Success”, “You’re an Influencer”, and “Don’t F**cking Procrastinate.” The material contained in these lessons based on the titles is certainly something I don’t need, and would suspect many others wouldn’t need; i.e. one Google search using keywords “stop procrastination” by anyone will yield hundreds of such helpful “feel good” articles from other content writers for FREE.

But I will give you the benefit of the doubt here; perhaps others will find this inspirational “fluff” very helpful and useful. I won’t.

However even irrespective of Module One, and the Bonus Lessons (which really do not interest me) based on the “meat and potatoes” of the main course “syllabus” it is hard to deny that of the 49 lessons in total, whomever buys this course is only getting 30 lessons for their hard-earned money, since 19 lessons are duplicated. So once again, for $997 I am actually paying for 30 lessons, not 49. That amounts to only 61% of the total material we are being promised.

So if this course were priced somewhere around $499 -$599 (do the math), the course price would certainly be justified.

Until today, I was completely ready to purchase this course until I made this discovery. Note I am totally for investing in myself and my education and paying what a good course is worth, and I SERIOUSLY want to believe you guys have produced a GREAT ground-breaking course that will teach me how to make a living doing You Tube.

Unfortunately, compared to the amount of course material being promised for delivery in the “primer” videos and the expectations set by Jesse and Kong it feels quite like I am not getting the value.

Is there an explanation for this? I would love to hear what the creators have to say.

    Kaju

    1. Hi Kaju,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

I hope the creators will see this and respond here.

When they do respond, I will notify you.

      Cheers!
      ~Jack (BareNakedScam)

  7. This is a really good article, I think I heard of that program before. One of my dreams before was to become a big YouTuber but I had trouble getting views and subscribers. I still have my channel with like 227 subs so I still need a lot more. I will be using my channel more now to talk about my websites and what not. I do need more help in getting my YouTube videos out there!

    1. Awesome Justin! Maybe Jumpcut Academy can help you with this.

      Cheers!
