So, as you can see, the bare minimum of starting an online business is $28 per month, and you’ll have to figure things out yourself if you are a beginner.

My Personal Experience with WA
Wealthy Affiliate is the reason I was able to earn a six figure income (proof) that allowed me to quit my boring 9 to 5 job.
If it wasn’t for Wealthy Affiliate I would probably still be stuck in a cubicle, working at a job that I’m least passionate about, trading my precious time for money, and trying to climb the corporate ladder for the sake of giving my family a “better life”.
My Painful Journey Before Wealthy Affiliate
Years before I found Wealthy Affiliate, I was doing lots of side hustles so that I could “escape the rat race”.
I’ve joined many Multi-Level Marketing companies, tried stock trading, forex trading, real estate flipping, selling insurance, and I’ve even tried several affiliate marketing programs.
And, if I recall correctly, I’ve spent over $5,000 and hundreds of hours on those opportunities.
Nothing worked!
And, the worst part was, I didn’t learn much through the process.
I Was Tired Out…
And, I was almost ready to give up the idea of “being my own boss”. I was almost ready to start sucking up to my superiors and climb the corporate ladder.
And then, I saw an ad…
It was about this guy who was a broke construction worker and he was addicted to drugs.
He eventually overcame all odds and became a millionaire through affiliate marketing.
His story was so compelling that I took out my credit card and spent almost $2,000 on his courses because he claimed that I could double my investment in a couple of months.
Guess what? That didn’t work out either!
Every time I purchased something, it led me to buy more and more stuff, and before I know it, I was spending thousands…
Yet, I still didn’t learn much.
So again, I was even more determined this time to give up my hopes and dreams.
And, while I was researching online on how to get a refund from my failed venture, I chanced upon Wealthy Affiliate.
At that time, I was like, Man…
Another opportunity?
I was already on high alert, and I was about to close my browser and head off to work.
But, what caught my attention was that it was free to get started. And, this kind of offer was rare at that time. Usually, I had to pay a couple of dollars to get started.
So, once again, since it was free and it didn’t require my credit card details, I created an account with Wealthy Affiliate.
I only had the time to consume the information in Wealthy Affiliate when I got back home from work.
And, I was amazed by the information I could get for free, yet at the same time, I was a little annoyed.
I was annoyed because I’ve spent thousands of dollars learning the stuff that I could get in Wealthy Affiliate for free. That was the reason why I started to trust Wealthy Affiliate and continued with the training.
The Road with Wealthy Affiliate Wasn’t Easy though
In fact, I failed a couple of times, and I quit once.
My failure has nothing to do with Wealthy Affiliate, but it was an internal struggle.
But, what I learned was that you may not succeed the first time, or the second time, or the third…
But, as long as you keep it real, and keep moving forward, you will eventually find success.
So, skipping ahead to 2017, two years after I’ve joined Wealthy Affiliate, I’ve managed to earn a full-time income online through the business I started with Wealthy Affiliate.
That year, in August 2017, I quit my job, and I’ve been working from home ever since. The following year in 2018, I made a Six-Figure Income.
Looking back, I couldn’t believe that Wealthy Affiliate could have such an impact on my life.
Why Do People Fail in Wealthy Affiliate?
Even with top-notch education, support, and a 100% commitment, there are still people who will fail.
And, there are several reasons…
1. Some people gave up too easily
Well, these are probably people who will never see success in anything that they do.
I am sorry to say this, but it is a fact.
I have seen many people “trying out the program” and giving up after a month.
Some people complain that there is too much work, some complaint that they have never seen any results, some never even started.
There are always reasons for people to give up.
But for those who didn’t give up, they have seen success.

2. People Who Are Too Impatient To Succeed
These are the type of people who will rush through the Wealthy Affiliate Courses, skipping lessons after lessons and thinking that they know better.
After months, they figured that they didn’t get results, they quit.
Honestly, rushing through lessons is what you shouldn’t be doing.
You have to take the time to immerse yourself in training, which means learning and executing.
Skipping any steps or missing any tasks would mean that you are taking a shortcut, and we know well where shortcuts lead us in life. So, do not ever commit that mistake.
3. People Who Are Not Doing Things Right
I have seen many people who are resistant to change, even if something is not working out for them.
Bear in mind that this is a business, and you shouldn’t take it personally.
Whenever you do not see any results within your first 3 months (at least some organic traffic coming to your website), it means that something is wrong. It is time to figure out what is wrong and fix it fast.
Many Wealthy Affiliate members followed the lessons blindly and expected success.
Well, to be honest, you have to think out of the box and put your creativity and problem-solving skills to work.
When you encounter a problem which you do not know how to solve, always seek help from the WA community.
The Wealthy Affiliate course is not a full proof system, but if you persist and continuously upgrade yourself and your business, you’ll soon be able to see some results.
You can’t expect to achieve success by following what everyone is doing, right?

The Ugly Side of Wealthy Affiliate NO ONE Dares To Discuss!
Now, I promised right at the start of this review that I will be objective, and I am going to deliver that promise to you in this section.
#1 It Takes Too Long To Achieve Results
Because of the nature of what is taught in Wealthy Affiliate (Search Engine Traffic), its members will not see results fast.
It typically takes 3 to 6 months for Search engines to rank your content, and during this period, you’ve got to be consistent with posting at least 1 content every week.
Most people give up after 3 months or less because they couldn’t accept the fact that they’ve spent so much time and energy and not get rewarded.
So, if you are looking to earn money quickly with Wealthy Affiliate, then this program is not for you.

#2 Restricted To Search Engine Traffic
While there are some courses and lessons (done by WA members) about other traffic sources like Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
I feel that it is not conducive enough. At the end of the day, success with Wealthy Affiliate’s strategy boils down to Search Engine Traffic (for free traffic), and Bing Ads (for Paid Traffic).
I wouldn’t say that this is a deal breaker because search engine traffic is one of the best traffic for sales conversion, but I just thought that it would be better if Wealthy Affiliate provides more traffic resources in their core training.
#3 Competition is Too High
With such a low barrier to entry, everyone can build a website and create content.
At this moment, there are already so many well-established competitors, how can you beat them, right?
I too had the same mindset. There were many formidable competitors that I thought I couldn’t beat at that time.
So, how did I overcome this?
Stop thinking and start doing!
Google has an algorithm that is biased against older websites (though it is not a widely talked about topic, but I have had first-hand experience).
It gets harder and harder for older websites to get ranked on Google unless their content is updated, and in sync with the new algorithm changes.
So, there is an advantage for people who are just getting started.
#4 Talking Trash About Other Businesses
Now, this is a controversial topic. Many people claimed that Wealthy Affiliate teaches its members to bash other people’s business opportunity just to promote Wealthy Affiliate.
That’s totally untrue.

My Final Take

I found your article to be very interesting and informative. I actually found it through your review of Kidazzler. I did become a member of Kidazzler (at the recommendation of someone on a business support group of which I am a member). I have not, however, given them any financial information yet as I have been trying to find more information on the company.
Anyway, I have a couple of questions:
Is Wealthy Affiliate merely affiliate marketing (meaning I would need to recruit members to make any money) or does it help me learn how to grow my own online business?
Secondly, what if I don’t have a “blog” or true business idea figured out? I have two home businesses that are marginally successful but not sure how any of that fits in.

Regarding Affiliate Marketing, no you don’t have to recruit anybody. Affiliate marketing is all about promoting products for other companies and earning a commission from a successful sale. With Wealthy Affiliate, it will teach you how to grow an affiliate marketing business that is based on your passion.

I have just started WA and to anybody who is considering this, it has ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that you need to succeed in affiliate marketing, but it comes with a catch….there is a ton you have to learn. 50 lessons in all. Think of this as going to school to learn a trade. From what I hear on the WA chat, you might make a full time living at it in one, two years or never. The advantage is that it’s a dirt cheap career. But no short cuts here. You gotta work at it, part time, full time, off and on like a lot of people, but everything you need is there. It’s all up to you. The only limitation, the only unknown factor IS YOU.

Wealthy Affiliate is a learning platform and not a platform to solicit affiliate marketers, and it is focused on teaching Affiliate Marketing. However, the knowledge can be applied to building your own business as well.
Basically, the knowledge you need to grow your own business is “General Internet Marketing”. The traffic generation methods taught in WA is similar to how you can drive traffic to your own business, but what is lacking in the WA platform is the implementation of your own affiliate program (your own business).

As affiliate marketers, we don’t need to create our own product to sell. We promote other people’s products.
To know if it is profitable, you can either experience the marketing materials of the product and determine if it moves you to buy the product, or you can use real stats provided by the affiliate program or affiliate network.
There is really no restrictions to the sorts of business because affiliate marketing spans across so many other niches in the world. You just have to pick one niche and focus on promoting one or a few good products.

No. It is absolutely free for as long as you need.
But, I just wanted to share with you the difference.
A free trial is to help you understand what you are getting into before signing up to the premium membership.
Of course the knowledge is limited, and you can’t really go far. If you want to learn everything there is about online marketing or affiliate marketing, the premium membership unlocks everything, and there is no upsells or any other cost involved, other than owning your own domain name which cost $13 per year.
That’s the least amount of money required to build your online business. I can’t find anything that is cheaper and has the same level of quality training on the internet.

Basically, there are 2 step by step courses that will help you build your digital asset (your website), as well as giving you a set of guideline that will help you run your online business.
Anything out of the 2 step by step course, like list building, branding, facebook marketing, etc, are found in the weekly webinar training vault.
So the strategy with Wealthy Affiliate is for you to go through the step by step modules first to be able to stand on your own feet. And, the rest of the more advance stuff, you’ll basically know what to do after watching those weekly webinars.

My name is Emmeline. I am 28 years old. I live in California working as a receptionist and am living with my family of 5 in a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house because I cannot support myself on my income, despite my job being full time. I have an AA degree and have been acting/singing in theatre since I was a kid. I currently do community theatre and stand up comedy alongside my job. But I do not often make money from it, I do it because I love it.

Yes, if you host your website in WA, it installs wordpress for your website. WordPress is the only platform that WA supports.
You can definitely use it for your technical blog.
In terms of affiliate marketing, you can definitely leverage it. But, it really depends on your niche, does the chip design niche has any affiliate programs? This is something you need to research on. But, if you are saying to promote Wealthy Affiliate on your technical blog, then maybe it is not such a good idea because they are not relevant to each other.

Of course! WA hosting platform works just like any other hosting platform.
If you decide to leave WA (given that you’ve bought the domain name, and its not the free one), you can transfer the domain name and hosting to other service providers within a period of one month.
But, I’ll just let you know that I never left WA hosting platform because of the ease of use. You’ll probably have a steep learning curve if you venture out to host a website somewhere else, like Hostgater, Bluehost, etc. I’ve tried that and it isn’t really that simple as most would claim.

Jack, my hat is off to you for your online success. I had heard about Wealthy Affiliate a few years ago, but never pursued it due to the need for more immediate income at the time. I had forgotten all about it until I recently became interested in affiliate marketing again. After finding a few scammers in the space, I came across Wealthy Affiliate again. Right away, I knew WA was the real deal and a great choice, so I proceeded to give it a test drive by signing up for the free account. I totally expected to upgrade quickly, but wanted to have a look around to be absolutely sure before upgrading to a premium account. After signing in, I was shocked to read the following statement on the next page, “Free Starter accounts are not available in your country, but we would love to have you as a Premium Member!”. Please understand that I am not sharing this to trash WA in any way, but I feel that others should be aware that there are exceptions to the free trial. I am an American who happens to be traveling abroad, so unfortunately due to geo-tracking, the country I am currently visiting is being blocked from their free trial offer. I’m not a “Cheap Charlie” and not just looking for freebies, but this experience has caused me to reconsider whether I should join WA as a premium paid member without trying it before I buy it. It should also be noted that I was brought to the checkout page to pay first and the only option I was given was the annual payment @ $359.

This is a measure taken by Kyle and Carson to ensure that members do not take advantage of the free trials.

The way I understand it, it is best to join WA if one has a business to promote. The business should ideally be one that he is passionate about or in line with his own interest. He can then use the knowledge and technology learned from WA to build a website concerning his product or service, drive traffic to the website and hopefully, generate sales from his visitors.
However, the problem with many prospective WA joiners is that they don’t have their own businesses or products/services to promote. I for one, at this point, could not think of a good business to promote.
I understand that WA has a built in solution to this — promote WA. That in itself is a business one can passionately dedicate himself to. This seems to be an excellent idea initially. But then we have to contend with the fact that there may be tens of thousands of WA affiliates who are in the same boat and who have nothing more to promote than WA itself. There is already a glut in this niche. That’s the reason why every time we do a search for product reviews, we almost ALWAYS end up with a product review done by a WA affiliate who is reviewing the product as a way to lead the visitor to joining WA as the better alternative to the business or product the visitor is researching on.
Of course you can say, well just compete. That’s the essence or free enterprise. But then, realistically, what are the chances of still succeeding in this WA promotion niche? There are already a lot of veterans way, way ahead — like YOU. For a newbie appreciating how excellently you have developed your promotion site, it looks like a very tall order to come up with something better and competitive. And mind you, you are not the only excellent site around promoting WA.
Chances are, if we promote WA the possibility of failure will be great. The possibility of succeeding if you promote your own product/service is greater. But then, it’s an equally tall order to think of your own business or product to promote.
For most of us in this category, it’s a catch-22 thing.
What’s your take on this? What do you advise?

The competition is stiff, I have no doubt about that. This was the problem years ago, and it is still a problem now.
Back then when I first started, there were thousands of WA affiliates, but I didn’t care. I found my unique angle of WA promotion, and I succeeded.
Another example I would like to give is Jerry. He started a website promoting WA in January 2018. Now, in June, he posted an update which claimed that he made quite a good amount of money with Wealthy Affiliate. The competition is super high at this point, but he still managed to get through with it.
Why? It’s the consistency. He write articles every single day, and he post 4 to 5 articles per week.
Many times we are afraid of competition, cost, hard work, etc, but those in my opinion are excuses to justify your reason not to start anything. I understand, it is scary to go against the odds, but if you are too afraid of taking the first step and following through with it, you can never find success.
Whether it is in the make money online niche or whatever niches, the competition is there. If you are too worried about wasting your time and effort to build an online business, you should not be in this business in the first place.
People who are successful in affiliate marketing did not find success immediately. They always find ways to better themselves as a marketer, that will eventually lead them to success.
I hope you can get through the negativity, and start working on something that is worthwhile in a long run.

For example, I start my website and all for sports gear. I have no product or customers yet. There is no inventory to manage, no logistics to handle, and you don’t need to purchase products upfront in order to earn a commission.
You just need to join an affiliate program (like Amazon Affiliate program) and they will provide you with an unique affiliate link.
Post that affiliate link on your website or which ever place that you are promoting the product. When someone clicks on the link, it will brig them to Amazon (for example), and when they buy something from Amazon, you get paid a commission.
It is simple as that.

But, you’ve missed the most important point, which is to build an authority site that people in your niche will trust and respect.

I know this may be far fetched, but WA provides you with the structure to build your business one step at a time to eventually strive to become an authority in your niche.

The first step to build an affiliate business is to identify what niche you are into.
It could be a niche that solves a problem, or it could be a niche based on your passion. With that angle, you find products or solutions that will help the people in your niche.
Obviously, it would be better if you have personally tried the product or solution and you recommend it based on your own experience.
But sometimes, due to financial constraints, you are not able to buy the product yourself. In such a case, you can recommend the product based on the many positive reviews you can find on the internet about the product, and form your own opinion.
Affiliate marketing is simply the “word of mouth” in the digital world. And the good thing about this is that you can amplify your opinion to whoever that is search for a solution in your niche.

I think whatever that you are paying for in Lurn (other than the Lurn Insider) are one time payment. If you are in Lurn Insider, I’ll suggest that you stop your payment.
I will suggest that you start again with Wealthy Affiliate to get a good foundation of Affiliate Marketing, then you can still use the knowledge from Lurn (assuming that you own products like Inbox Blueprint) to advance your knowledge.

I was originally looking at the both. First at Wealthy Affiliate and then later watched a video from Anik Singal at Lurn which led me to paying the first fee of the course.

I won’t recommend you to Wealthy Affiliate if your intention is to promote your own products. Wealthy Affiliate is focused on teaching people how to promote other people’s products. For promoting your own products, I recommend that you learn specific skillsets like Copywriting and Facebook Advertising, and both of which Lurn provides (Click on the links above to read the reviews).
These are the two most important skillset you need to grow your own online business.

As an internet marketer, you’ll need an avenue to share your knowledge and experience (about a product or a niche).
You can write content about a product or your niche, or you can shoot a video.
There’s no restriction on how you send your message out to the world.

Yes, everyone goes through the same training, and if everyone does the same thing without any uniqueness (personal branding), don’t you think that it is replicative, and people who visits your online business will not have a good reason to trust what you say because you sound like hundreds others on the market?
My advice is to be unique, don’t just follow the training blindly, brainstorm of the message(s) you want to send to the people who visits your website, and make sure that the user experience (UX) reciprocate with your intentions.

Hi Jack! Just wondering if you can advise abit about the process about the course. While I understand there is alot of online process, technique and marketing that goes into an online business, my biggest issue is I just have no clue on what to run! I don’tk now my niche? I love investing – shares, equities, everything, but I am by far not a guru that I can setup a coaching style online business like those ‘rich dudes’ you see selling training courses online whiel worknig on their laptop in bali.

I really just want to shove it at life and work for myself but what always holds me back isn’t so much going for a course or learning how to do things – but I just don’t know what idea/niche I want to pursue! I just have confidence and am curious about my entrepreneurial streak and ability to push forward – except I don’t have a guiding idea or business/niche in mind? Any advice/help? I was a member of Wealthy Affiliate for 2 years but ended up without any sales and no website. Wealthy Affiliate does not let you transfer your website to any other Web Hosting sites. All my hard work in building my website gone down the drain because WA didn’t let me transfer my website to another Hosting company.
WA members are there only to promote their own website, if you are a good salesman you might be successful in WA. My experience has been bad in WA since I am not good at Selling.

Firstly, maybe you didn’t do your part to find information on how you can transfer your website. It doesn’t magically happen.
Once you’ve cancelled your account with Wealthy Affiliate, you still have 30 days to transfer your website to another service provider. If you missed that window, you’ll have to continue with your premium membership to get everything activated again. I am certain that your work is still saved in the WA hosting platform, and if you become a premium member again, you can retrieve the information. This process is just like any hosting platform, you have to keep the service running for your website to be active.
WA members do not necessarily need to promote Wealthy Affiliate, they are taught to promote any kind of products online, and NO you don’t need to be a good salesman. I’m definitely not one, but I still managed to find success.
In fact, I’ve escaped MLM to WA because I can’t sell!
I’m assuming that you didn’t complete the courses entirely, and you’ve been doing things on your own, and not seeking help in the community, and when you didn’t achieve any success you cried foul.
I’ll be brutally honest with you, whatever programs or opportunities that you decide to join, if you don’t follow through with it, you’ll never succeed.
To become successful online, you need to overcome adversities.
Sad to say, when people don’t see results after weeks or months, and their bills get piled up, the majority of them will quit.
It is only the minority group of people who will head out to find solutions to their problems, and stick with their online business (like their life depends on it), until they find success.
So, what I recommend you do is to find a program and stick with it (even if it is not Wealthy Affiliate).
Wealthy Affiliate has created thousands of success stories online, and what you learn in here do actually work, but that’s if you follow through.

Own Domain Name means a website that you own. For example, barenakedscam.com is a domain that I own.
It cost $13 per year (in WA) to own a domain name, and it is definitely recommended for you to own one if you are in this for a long haul.
I wouldn’t say you can’t be successful with a free domain, for example barenakedscam.siterubix.com, but having a personal domain will definitely help with branding and makes it more credible, plus there’s no restriction on the design if its your own domain. Free domains have certain restrictions in terms of the customization of the look and feel of the website.

I think you’ve mixed eCommerce with Affiliate Marketing.
With Affiliate Marketing, everything happen online, and you don’t need to worry about inventory or fulfilling of orders.
All you do is to help promote products of other companies, and they will pay you when there is a successful sale.
The orders and shipment is taken care of by the company.
Most affiliate programs that I know of pays by Paypal. If you are able to create a Paypal account, you can participate in this.

I can’t give you a specific direction because there are really too many products on the internet to promote.
Wealthy Affiliate is not here to spoon feed but to provide guidance so that you will find your direction.
In any kind of affiliate business, you have to find a specific niche and become an authority in that niche, and WA will guide you to that direction. WA will not tell you specifically what niche to enter, you’ll have to make the decision yourself.
Plus, there’s really a lot to cover for your question, and I can’t pen everything down here. I suggest that you join the free starter membership as it will give you the answers that you seek for.

Setting up a plat form or table of various products used for the same purpose and showing out the pro’s and cons and giving your opinion which is the best. And then a link each product to either Amazon or ebay to be able to purchase the product?
Then when the person click on the link you get recognition for the click?

Its recommended that you promote products that you personally own, but even if you don’t that’s fine as well because you can leverage on other people’s experiences.
What you have said regarding the “Platform” or “Table” is half right. There are a lot more to just providing a review on specific products. I can’t cover every thing here, but I’ll just say that it is the back end follow up with your leads that will get you the sales. You’ll learn more when you join Wealthy Affiliate.
When someone clicks on your affiliate link, and when they buy something, you will earn the commission.
You’ll need to register for an affiliate account with the merchant in order to earn. The merchant will pay you the commission for referring people to their website.

1. The courses are conducted in a structured manner. There are approxiamtely 10 lessons in each module, and in each lesson there are tasks to be completed. There are video training as well as written content.
2. It really depends because each module and lesson varies. Some lessons go super in-depth which will take you an hour to complete, and some training takes you half an hour.
3. There is a live training held every Friday, and every live training is recorded. WA premium membership will be able to access all recordings.
4. Yes, you do it at your pace.

And, most, if not all other programs, focused on teaching the “paid traffic” method.
In Wealthy Affiliate, its a little different though.
The main focus is to get “organic Traffic”, in other words,”Free Traffic”.
But, I have to say, there’s always a trade off when the word “FREE” comes into play.
To get “FREE” traffic, you have to spend a lot of time building reputation and credibility, and it really takes time to succeed with this method.
But, I can guarantee that the stuff that you learn in Wealthy Affiliate are the foundation to everything that is happening in the online business industry.
That’s why I always recommend people to learn how to drive “free traffic” before getting into “paid traffic”.

Yes, if you do bring someone into Wealthy Affiliate and that person becomes a premium member, you’ll earn a commission.
But, please remember that this is not an MLM program. You don’t necessarily need to “bring” people into the program. You get quality traffic online. People who have the same interest, not only people whom you know.

I have no clue on how to build awebsight.
I’m still debating on weather to join or not? I’m a member of MOBE and only made a couple of dollars. But wasted more money on marketing.
I guess I’m scared of trying out another program.
In my opinion, MOBE is a super expensive product that brings you to no where as a beginner. People who have prior internet marketing knowledge can make a lot of money with that though.
The way I see it, there are 2 paths to be successful online through affiliate marketing:
Path #1: To build an authority site in a specific niche. Basically, you are building an entire online business from scratch, so you’ll learn a lot about Internet Marketing, and why people will take action on the products you promote. However, this path is long and tough, and a lot of people quit because they didn’t see the results that they want, even though they have put in a lot of effort for months. If you choose this path, you will not expect to see any results in the first 3 – 6 months, and you have to put in a lot of effort to it. The financial risk is not that much, but the time and effort will be wasted if you give up.
Path #2: To leverage on a business that is already setup, just like MOBE. These programs offer you a license to promote their products when you buy them, and you can potentially earn a lot of money when someone signs up through your affiliate link. To make money with them, you’ll only need to drive high quality traffic to their business, and the business will take care of everything. Problem is, as a beginner, you will not know how to attract the right traffic, and that’s where most people fail (because they don’t have the fundamental knowledge about Internet Marketing). That is why I always recommend to start from Path #1, because you will learn the entire game of Internet Marketing from ground up.

Let me break down the cost for you:
Domain Name: Approximately $10 per year
Web Hosting: $0 (inclusive in premium – normally cost around $10 – $30 per month)
Keyword tool: $0 (inclusive in premium – normally cost around $20 – $90 per month)
That’s the basic cost you need to run an affiliate site. Of course there will be more tools that you’ll use when you get to an advance stage, but the above is the bare minimum.
In terms of the generating traffic, WA will teach you from A to Z. SEO to Social Media Marketing to paid advertising, etc. I can guarantee that if you follow the courses closely, you will become an advanced online marketer.
I know it because I’ve went through that process and am still learning from it.

I don’t have a website yet, but there’s several I know that aren’t big bucks and I even heard Wix was decent. Anyway. I want to become an affiliate. I’ve desired it for over a year. But, I would presume that if you earn income from affiliate marketing, your profit from the business will be tax under your personal income. That is unless you create a company to run the operation, then it will be subject to corporate tax, and the dividends receive from the company will be subject to your local personal tax.

A moderately successful person in WA makes a full time income of between $2,000 to $3,000 per month, I guess. But it would take a lot of time and effort in the initial stage to get to that level of income, and there is no guarantee.
You can either downgrade your membership from yearly to monthly, and even if you cancel your membership, you will still get commission when you refer people to WA (however, the commission amount is halved).
In regard to the domain, if it is purchased, you can transfer the web hosting of the domain to another service provider within 7 days. The web hosting package is only meant for premium members, and if you cancel your premium membership, you would have to find an alternative.
WA is an one-stop shop for Internet Marketing knowledge. It covers many topics, including getting ranked on youtube. But it is not as comprehensive as to helping you select the best camera to use or the best mic to use, etc. It is more on teaching you how to get ranked on youtube.

What is the duration of the course?
It’s a constant learning process Shahbaz. And, you can work on the courses at your own convenience. Some people take 3 months to complete and some takes a year. It’s really up to you. It seems part of the monthly fee provides hosting so will my fee be reduced? Also, I’m coming from AWOL Academy. I purchased AWOL’s first program to get started and learned a lot but I have been turned off by the very strong sales pitch they use to get you to pay $10,000 to be an elite member. I believe whatever you can learn from AWOL, you can learn from Wealthy Affiliate.
The fee that you pay as a Wealthy Affiliate member is for the education and support, not for the web hosting. The web hosting is complimentary to all premium members.
To reduce your payment, you may consider transferring your current web host to WA when you sign up as a premium member. This will save you quite a bit on the monthly fees in general.
Honestly speaking, you do not need to pay an upscale amount to learn internet marketing.

Hello, I’m very interested in getting into the Dot.com world not to get Rich but hopefully to try and make a little supplemental income. I honestly don’t have a ton of money to spend and I’m pretty new to all of this. I was gonna do the Mobe thing but did my research and OH MY GOSH!!! they are asking for a lot of money for no guarantee return.. Besides the premium membership, all you need is a domain name which cost between $10 – $20 per year. THAT’S ALL!
I was hooked on WA because of its honesty and it didn’t make any effort on upselling once you are in the program.
Once you’ve paid for the premium membership, you unlock everything within WA.
However, there is another product within WA called Jaaxy, a keyword tool, but you don’t actually need it if you can’t afford it. There is a WA keyword Tool that works similar to Jaaxy and it is complimentary with the premium membership.
Basically, the WA premium membership covers a lot of the miscellaneous costs such as:
1. Web Hosting ($20 – $100 per month)
2. SSL ($4.99 – $139 per year)
3. Keyword Tool ($19 to $200 per month)

What I love about Wealthy Affiliate when I first joined was its honesty.
Kyle has promised that there will not be any upsells, and there really isn’t.
Although he explains that the use of Jaaxy, a keyword tool that every affiliate marketer needs (its $19 per month on top of the WA membership), but you don’t actually need to have that because Wealthy Affiliate comes with its own WA Keyword Tool.
So, basically there are no upsells after premium.
You can check out the Free WA Starter Membership and determine if it is worth joining premium.

There are two ways to look at this:
There are many ways to get traffic, social media, search engines, guest blogging, etc. Generally, getting fast traffic is easy as long as you have the $$$.
But, getting consistent free traffic would require a lot of knowledge, skill, and work, and that is what Wealthy Affiliate teaches.
In terms of sales conversion, it depends on the type of traffic you are getting (cold, warm, hot).
Cold traffic are people who do not know what they want but are get browsing around for something interesting to pop up. This kind of traffic hardly convert into sales.
Warm traffic are people who know what they want but don’t know what kind of vehicle can bring them to their goal. They are looking for the vehicle, and if your online business’ sales engine is done properly, this kind of traffic will convert well.
And, for Hot traffic, I don’t need to say much. These are the people who will buy whatever that pops up to them because they already know what they want and where to get from.
All these are covered in modules of Wealthy Affiliate.

I was lead to your website because I was invited to join Prime My Body, and after reading your review, I have decided it is best that I stay away from that for now.
This, however, does sound interesting. My question is when you say you can make money focusing on your passions and building a website around that, i am just wondering how that looks.

You do not necessarily need to sell your own info products. You can promote other info products related to health and acrobatics which has an affiliate program.
Generally, there are 2 things you can do:
1. Promote other people’s products – Create a blog about health and acrobatics, and share useful information and direct people to a program that you believe in. This is called Affiliate Marketing.
2. Create your own info product – Create a website to sell the info products.
For 1, the best place to learn how to be an affiliate marketer is Wealthy Affiliate.
For 2, I would suggest that you start by reading this book.

Hey buddy. Maybe I missed where u might have mentioned whether you do this as your part time job or full time job. So I would love to know if you doing affiliate program as your part time job or full time. As I’m a full time student with loads of work at college and one year left to finish the course and move on to uni life. However, what would you recommend me about it whether it’s worth it if I start this as part time job or no. You can definitely start this as a part time job. Being an affiliate marketer is still my part time job, and honestly, the income that I’ve made as an affiliate marketer now supersedes my full time job. I am assessing whether I should quit my full time job and focus on my affiliate marketing business.
So, my answer to you is to be an affiliate marketer on a part time basis, and if you persist and breakthrough your first dollar online, I am pretty sure by the time you graduate, you may never need to work for anyone in your life. No promises though. 🙂

Everyone’s learning ability and execution is different, so I can’t give you a gauge. Some people take years to earn commission while some earn in their first month.
It boils down to your ability to get people to your website (traffic), and your ability to turn that traffic to sales (marketing skill).

I do believe I have tried this in the past, I may be mistaken. However, the more I read into WA the more I believe the site is the same.
In any case I wanted to try to Starter Members, so as not to risk any monies I did not have, but kept running into more and more offers of having to pay. I reached a point where I could not go further due to being asked to order more session requesting money.
Is there any way to avoid this and make money, regardless of time or knowing the marketing business? Or do others like myself have to get limited information and hope for the best?

The free starter membership is a trial, and it unlocks the 1st module of WA which consist of 10 video training and actionable steps.
If you want to learn more, you definitely have to upgrade. There is no gimmick here.
It is just like paying your school for education.
I am sure you can find many free education online, but from my knowledge, no one has become successful without proper guidance. Eventually, you need to learn from someone by paying them in order to be successful.

When I first started, it took me 2 hours during weekdays and 4 hours or more during weekends, and this schedule lasted for about 4 to 5 months. (That is till I got my first commission) Then now it is about 1 hour every weekday and 2 hours during weekends. Of course, I will work more if I have the time because I am passionate about my online business.
I too have a full time job. I made it a point that my online business is my ticket to success, and it is my ticket to finally get out of my job. So, I made it a point that no matter how hard it is, I still need to find time for my online business.

If you understand how Amazon Affiliate program works, then other affiliate programs work the same. To find them, simply type “Your Niche + Affiliate program” in Google.
You have to join their affiliate programs in order to make commissions from them.
However, in order to earn your first commission online, you have to get your basics right. You have to know what your prospects need, where they congregate at, what can you do to get your message in front of your prospects.
To lean all these from scratch, I would suggest that you take a look into Wealthy Affiliate.

I need a little clarification to make sure I understand this correctly. Are the websites we are supplied with forums and blogs with links posted on them? We make money by generating traffic to companies websites, correct? We don’t actually sell any products or handle any actual transactions?

Just take amazon as an example. In order to earn money from Amazon, you have to sign up as a partner with them. Once you have signed up, you will be given a unique affiliate link. You can promote this link by placing it in your own website, etc. When people clicks on that link, and purchase something, you make a commission from the successful sale. You do not need to handle the transaction nor are you selling stuff. You are connecting potential buyers to retailers.
The main keyword to make money online is “relevance”. When you are promoting your affiliate link, make sure that you are promoting something that is relevant to your website.

I am currently with Wealthy Affiliate. I am seeing several things that are causing me to think I should try to get the maximum possible benefit from their training programs, then split. They have extremely good training programs. I can’t dispute that.
But there are problems with the domain specific email address. For some reason I can only receive emails. If I try to send or reply it gets caught in a perpetual loop and never gets sent. Technical support says it doesn’t see the problem. But their tests only use local servers which are not filtered thru a network. Will moving the domain to a different webhost fix this problem? I can’t be sure, but I need to look for a solution somewhere.
G T Metrix says that cloverchess.com is taking a very long time to load. This is an issue. Google Pagespeed Insights says the server is taking way too long to respond.
Should the website crash or should I get locked out I am heavily dependent on others to fix the problem. There is no control panel I can get into to try to fix the problem myself. There is no phone number to call for assistance with problems. You can only send emails.
Webhosting is far more expensive with Wealthy Affiliate than it is with a typical webhost. Moving my domain to another webhost and allowing my membership with Wealthy Affiliate to expire would save me money on webhosting fees. Of course I would lose access to their training programs at that point.
Though there are no phone number to call for support. I have always gotten a response from WA webhost support team within an hour. I think it is about preference when it comes to web hosting. Some might find WA host reliable while others would host their websites some where else. Wealthy Affiliate is more of an education program and community for me. Even if I do not host with WA, I will still continue to be a premium member because I see the value in it.

I read some other reviews and I felt like they had the hot shot “look at me” look to them and with this page and the other page this led too I really enjoyed it. I felt like you were just giving me the truth through your experience. I feel like that is better than talking about a fancy lifestyle you got through WA.

First let me say that I am employed with a good government job, well paid, etc etc but have been looking into making some extra money. I will admit like most people I have listened to all of the inspirational videos telling me I can “get rich quick” but as I dig deeper it appears all seem to be scams of some sort.
I was however interested in what you say about Wealthy Affiliate. My question is (and it may be a stupid newbie inquiry), is Wealthy Affiliate simply a tool to learn how to market or does it provide everything needed to make money as say the funnel system claims.
I guess what im asking is, do we as a buyer of this program need a product to sell or do you make your money by getting others to subscribe to this or other systems,

I dun charge any extra to coach people. I give advice and share my experience in Wealthy Affiliate.
For your question on the length of time to be up and running, it is really subjective. If your speed of interpreting and executing the information is fast, you can be up and running in a matter of days, but if you take your time like I did, it will take probable 2 weeks to a month to be up and running. Making money is another story, it took me 4 months to make my first commission, some people took weeks while some people never see any results.

Nonetheless, I believe if you work hard and never give up, you will eventually see results.

Can You Make Money as A Free Member of Wealthy Affiliate?
It is possible but it will be difficult. To be honest, nothing is guaranteed and it really depend on each individual. There are people who join as Premium but did not make any money and there are people who join the starter membership and started to make money. With Starter Membership, especially for beginners, you will have limited knowledge and you will be stuck at one point and do not know where or how to move on, furthermore, you will not have the support system where you can ask for help when you need it. If a Starter Member were to make money, I would assume that the person has already some knowledge on Online Marketing.
With Premium Membership, you really get everything. I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today if I haven’t sign up for premium. I was out of luck and out of cash when I first joined Wealthy Affiliate but I bite the bullet and focus on the things that really matter. Your chance of success increases tremendously with Premium because you get all you need to know and you get a damn quick response for all your questions.

Actually you can upgrade to monthly premium member first and then you can click on the “Upgrade to Yearly (Red Button)” on the left panel. They will automatically pro-rate the amount for you so there wont be an over-charged situation.
