I thought I’ve seen all kinds of Multilevel Marketing (MLM) Companies, but this is the first time I’ve seen an MLM company selling wine.

I guess you are introduced to Direct Cellars recently and you wanted to know if this is a good opportunity for you to make money, and at the same time, enjoy wine.

You’ve come to the right place because I am going to share with you everything you need to know in order to make an informed decision.

There are some concerns about the way Direct Cellars operates, and I will share them with you below.

But first, let us understand what Direct Cellars is all about, and whether or not it is a scam…

What is Direct Cellars?

Direct Cellars is founded by David DiStefano in 2014, and it is an MLM company that sources for high quality wine from boutique and artisan vineyards from around the world, and distributes them to consumers, like you and me.

Direct-Cellars-WineSomething unique about Direct Cellars is that they do not have a specific bottle of wine to sell, instead they sell you on their auto-shipment of 2 to 4 bottles of different types of wine.

You will not expect to see the same bottle of wine in each shipment, which creates an element of surprise.

For $49.95, you’ll receive 2 bottles of wine every month, and for $79.95, you’ll get 4 bottles of wine.

So, if you are a wine enthusiast, I guess you’ll be interested to know more about this company.

Direct Cellar is a legitimate company, if you ask me. There are many people who claim that this is a scam, mainly because they do not understand how the business work, or they didn’t have success with it.

The truth is, 95% of the people who join Direct Cellars fail, and I’ll share the reasons with you below.

Before you think about joining this opportunity, you may want to figure out if you are suitable for this business…

This program has led me and more than a thousand people make a Life Changing income online. Find out how you can too!

Who is Direct Cellars For?

If you join Direct Cellars without first asking yourself if you are passionate about wine, then you’ll regret your decision after.

Direct Cellars are meant for people who loves wine tasting, regardless of whether they make money from it.

If you are passionate about wine, and you are looking to join a wine club that serves only high quality wine, Direct Cellars could be the place for you.

In my opinion, this is not an opportunity for everyone, you must be a wine enthusiast to be a part of this wine club, otherwise, there is no point of you joining Direct Cellars.

The Direct Cellars’ Business Opportunity

The Fast Start Bonus

So, it cost you $249.95 or $499.95 to join the opportunity. Once you’ve signed up for either of the packages, you will automatically become an “Active Member” of Direct Cellars, and you are qualified to earn a fast start bonus.

For every new member you introduced to Direct Cellars who purchase either of the two packages mentioned above, you earn a 50% commission from the package sold.

But, to Qualify for deeper levels of the compensation plan, such as the “Dual Team Pay”, the “Uni-Level 9 Pay”, and the “Check Match Bonus, you MUST personally sponsor or recruit 2 Active Members.

Dual Team Pay

It boils down to the activities of your organization. By organization, I mean the people whom you directly or indirectly sponsored or recruited.

If you have a team of people who are not making progress, and not growing in your organization, you can’t earn much from this compensation plan.

The Dual Team Pay pays commission on a weekly basis, and the sales volume of both your right and left team are calculated at the end of each week, and you earn a 20% commission from the sales volume of the lesser team.

This means that you have to properly manage your team so that there isn’t much deviation between your right and left team (If you don’t understand what the right and left team mean, watch the video above).

Uni-Level 9 Pay

Direct-Cellars-Uni-Level-9-Pay

As your organization grows, you’ll definitely see a huge difference in your paycheck.

As you can see above, you get to earn the different percentage of sales volume from each level of your organization. As it adds up, you’ll get a fat commission paycheck.

But, let me pull you down to reality. Across the board, for all MLM companies, including Direct Cellars, has a 95% failure rate for distributors.

So, although the Uni-Level 9 Pay is really enticing, it doesn’t mean that you will enjoy the benefit.

Unless you recruit many highly enthusiastic wine lovers who has a wide connection of wine enthusiast as well, you will fail miserably with this opportunity.

Check Match Bonus

Direct-Cellars-Check-Match

This compensation plan is nothing new to the MLM industry.

Check Match Bonus means that you will earn a percentage of the sales volume of each individual you directly or indirectly recruit.

Which means if you recruit John, and he makes $2,500 from Direct Cellars this month, you’ll earn a 10% of John’s income.

John’s recruit, Sally, has earned $2,500 as well, and you’ll earn 5% of Sally’s income.

Again, I’ll like to remind you that although the compensation plan is there, not many people are able to benefit from it.

Is Making Money from Direct Cellars Really That Hard?

To some, Wine is really easy to promote, but for most, it is hard.

Look around you, how many friends or family members loves wine tasting? If your answer is MANY, then becoming successful with Direct Cellars may be a walk in the park.

But, if the people around you are not that enthusiastic about wine, I guess this is not an opportunity you want to be in. Where I come from, you can hardly find wine enthusiast, but it may be different for you.

Although the video above made the opportunity look really easy, but in fact it is not. Here’s why…

To achieve the different ranks in Direct Cellars, these are the criteria:

  • Wine Lover – Become a Direct Cellars distributor and recruit and maintain at least 1 active distributor
  • Wine Enthusiast – Recruit and maintain at least 2 active distributors
  • Wine Critic – Recruit and maintain at least 3 Wine Enthusiast
  • Wine Specialist – Recruit and maintain at least 4 Wine Enthusiast
  • Wine Expert – Recruit and maintain at least 5 Wine Enthusiast
  • Wine Connoisseur – Recruit and maintain at least 6 Wine Enthusiast
  • Wine Aficionado – Recruit and maintain at least 7 Wine Enthusiast
  • Wine Master – Recruit and maintain at least 8 Wine Enthusiast
  • Master Cellar – Recruit and maintain at least 9 Wine Enthusiast

Like I’ve said above, you need to have a wide connection of people who are passionate about wine, otherwise, it will be an uphill battle when you join Direct Cellars. It is not easy to maintain “Wine Enthusiast” in your organization. The turnover rate is really high, and you have to constantly recruit people to maintain your rank.

I’ve seen some Direct Cellars distributor promoting the opportunity on Facebook and other social media channels. That might be a smart marketing technique, but unless you know what you are doing, you are basically burning money trying to get traffic to the door of Direct Cellars.

Now you know why it is so hard to succeed with Direct Cellars, would you still want to be a part of it?

This program has led me and more than a thousand people make a Life Changing income online. Find out how you can too!

The Burning Questions!!!

Let me help you discover if you are suitable to be a distributor for Direct Cellars. These are the questions you have to ask yourself:

  • Do you often drink wine?
  • Do you like only a specific type of wine?
  • Are you a wine lover?
  • What if you only want to buy a specific type of wine?

Let’s be clear that if you are not a wine lover, you shouldn’t even think about joining this opportunity.

Because of how Direct Cellars operate, you must be thinking, what if I’ve found my favorite bottle of wine, can I receive my favorite bottle of wine every month?

The answer is no. You can try contacting Direct Cellars on the special request.

As you already know from the above information, Direct Cellar is basically a Wine Club where you get to taste different kinds of wine every month. You will not get the same bottle of wine every month.

You need to understand and accept this concept before you join Direct Cellars.

My Sincere Advice to You

Direct Cellars is enticing for people who have a slight interest in wine, and who wants to earn an extra income.

Before you join Direct Cellars, I urge you to stop and consider the following:

  • Are you really passionate about Wine?
  • Even if you don’t make money from Direct Cellars, will you continue to buy wine from them?
  • Will you put the trust in Direct Cellars to send you only high quality wine?
  • Are you open to try all kinds of wine that is found around the world?

Success with Direct Cellars wouldn’t matter if you genuinely enjoy tasting wine, but of course, it would be great to earn money along the way, right?

I guess the success in this opportunity boils down to the culture around you, from where I am, it is rare to find wine enthusiasts who are passionate about tasting all kinds of quality wine. If you are French, that’s needless to say. Lol!

If you do have a group of friends who are wine enthusiast as well, it makes sense to earn a buck from this opportunity.

But, what if the Direct Cellars business opportunity is not for you? What else can you do to make money?

My suggestion is to check out this program which has led thousands of individuals, like you and me, to making a life changing income.

  1. I think TravellingVineyard is better. I read this to see what the difference was. DC may be great for some Canadaian provinces where the province controls liquor. The fact that you’ll make more signing up reps means it’s a no for me. With Travelling Vibeyard you get 15% of each sale, your own online store and dibt have to do home parties.

Lots of opinion here, i would venture to say that no one here has actually tried the wine.

Here is the thing, DC uses https://www.winedirect.com a one stop shop wine wholesaler, that runs fulfillment and logistics.

Meaning that most of the wine are relabelled wines and you really do not get the full back ground on the unknown wine just the region and type for the most part.

Direct Cellars management has no direct connection with vineyards and the management are not experienced vineyard owners or wine experts, that you would expect with this type of wine club.

The wine is sold as premium which it is not, far from it, the first case you purchase is at a big markup, 12 bottles costing $499.00 making them over $40 each for what i feel is a $10 to $15 wine.

Mystery box of wines with not enough selection, your first box of wine should at least contain a wide selection but was limited to just 3 types.

The wine industry has spent millions on selling people on their favorites.

I can’t see how international wine imported into a country helps the local wine industry?

Which is one of the reasons it would be tough to swing the masses onto to foreign wines, that are not as good as the local stuff.

People love local and their favorites, so DC cannot compete there because of price camparrissions, hence the unknown labels.

Their wines are just not that special for the price, so that leaves people to push the the MLM program for the money making. Wine tastings are cool but cost and are time intensive and a dar say most people would run out of warm market.

  3. This is a scam as in the shop you can get exact wines cheaper and also the people who sings you up should tell u more about it before you make a decision which some people fail at going that and money coming out every month which is so bad as it is way to much and I’ve done so many marketing online but with this one it’s the worst.

    1. Thank you for sharing your opinion on this company.

      Cheers!

Why are titled this business as a scam ?
The business is legitimate and not a fake or a front to rip you off.

    1. Hi Joe,

I didn’t think direct cellars is a scam. If you read this review through and through, I mentioned that this is a legitimate business opportunity, but there are many pitfalls that you should look out for if you decide to join the business.

      Cheers!
