What is Clickworker? – Is it Worth Your Time?
Doing simple tasks and earning an extra buck for it!
This is simply one of the easiest ways to earn money online.
But, does it really make sense to spend an hour just to earn a mere €2?
I’m pretty sure this is something that you are not ready to accept.
And, we will discuss more about it in this Clickworker review.
Honestly, Clickworker is one of the most unique Get Paid To (GPT) sites that I’ve come across, because most GPT sites only provides survey opportunities.
Clickworker pays independent contractors (you) for performing a wide array of micro-tasks.
Tasks such as interacting with an AI, translating short texts, image and video tagging, etc.
Best of all, because these tasks are simplified, you won’t even feel that you are being a part of a big project.
In my opinion, it is one of the more exciting ways to earn extra cash, but it really takes a lot of your time, and the amount compensated may not be worth your while.

What I Like and Don’t Like?
What I Like…
- Unlike many GPT sites, Clickworker is available worldwide
- Uses popular payment methods like Paypal and bank remittance
- Low Payout Threshold ($5 for paypal and $10 for bank remittance) – Most GPT sites need a minimum of $25 to cash out
- Simple and easy to navigate
- The process of signing up and profile completion is easy
- Free to join
What I Don’t Like…
- Not enough jobs to go around – Some people complained that there were not given enough jobs that will allow them to cash out
- You earn lower than minimum wage – some people spend 2 hours and earn €3 – Is it worth your time? You decide.
- Some people got their accounts deactivated while they are ready to cash out

How Does Clickworker Work?
Because of the unique solutions Clickworker provides, businesses can leverage on the Clickworker platform to fulfill their business needs.
No matter how big the project or task is, Clickworker has the ability to break them down into micro-tasks for Independent Contractors (Clickworkers) to easily complete them.
After that, the results of these micro-tasks will be merged together in a single outcome after a thorough validation.
Here’s a video explaining how this platform works…
How to Get Started?
It’s absolutely free to register as a Clickworker, and it is available worldwide.
You only need to input some personal data, your email address, and a password.
After a successful registration, an email containing the activation link will be sent to you. Just open that link, and you will be redirected to the user profile page.
This is where you’ll provide some personal information about your skills, experience, fields of knowledge, and a lot more.
You have to be honest, especially when filling out the information about your skills, because Clickworker will use this information to match you with the suitable micro jobs.
After that, you’ll be required to take some assessments where you will be scored. Your score will decide the type of job that will be offered to you.
It only means that there is a high possibility that you’ll get a lot of tasks to work on when you get a high score.
How Much Will You Earn?
The amount of money that you can earn on each task depends on a number of factors.
It may vary depending…
- On the difficulty of the task;
- How long would they take to be completed; and
- the skill and knowledge required.
There is a possibility for you to earn a $10 an hour if you have a certain skill that they require.
But, there is also a possibility that you can’t earn much at all because you are lacking in something.
Honestly, the payment isn’t that much.
What will You be Doing at Clickworker?
The key here is to help e-commerce businesses perform certain tasks. Some e-commerce businesses needs users to test their newly developed Artificial Intelligence, while some businesses need users to do the menial text translation.
Here is a list of Micro Jobs in Clickworker…
Text Writer
Honestly, hiring a skilled writer to write a product description, a business profile, a blog post, or a certain web page is expensive.
That’s why leveraging on Clickworker makes a lot of sense for businesses, because it is a lot cheaper.
I don’t know how you will feel about this, but I personally believe that if you have the quality of a writer, you can earn much more elsewhere by offering your writing services.
Anyway, if you intend to be a Text Writer for Clickworker, you have to complete a one-time assessment where you will be graded on a scale of 2 to 5 stars.
How much you will be paid per word will be determined by your grade.
The bad thing about this is that you can only take the assessment once…
What if you are writing skill has improved over time, then the amount you are paid doesn’t justify your skill level. This is something for you to think about.
You’ll get paid approximately $3.00 for a 250 word article.
Translation
Again, hiring a professional translator is expensive, which is why leveraging on Clickworker make sense.
The good thing about Clickworker is that it is available worldwide, which means that there is no shortage of native speakers or translators.
Whatever text that requires translation, there will be someone who is qualified for the job.
Proofreading
Proofreading is a highly demanded specialized skill online.
It is not a job for an amateur writer.
And, if you have that skill, you can easily charge $5 to $30 to proofread a content, depending on the length. But, that is if you provide the services out of Clickworker.
In Clickworker, to qualify as a proofreader, you have to…
- First be a Text Writer;
- Be an author of the site; and
- Take an assessment where you will be graded.
It is definitely not easy to qualify as a proofreader in Clickworker. Plus, you’ll only get paid $0.50 to proofread a 250 text. Is it worth your time, I’ll let you decide.
Data Categorization
This is a simple task…
You’ll be analyzing different data files such as documents, photos, and videos.
And, you will be given the categories to tag the data files.
For example, companies may need someone to read comments or reviews on their site, and tag them appropriately (like positive, negative and neutral), and that’s what you will be doing.
Web Research
This can either be a competitive research where you will help a company keep tabs on their competitors, or you could be helping a company find suitable employees or suppliers on Linkedin.
Or simply just collecting updated addresses, URLs, email addresses of a certain person or a group of people.
To qualify for such a job, you need to go through a certain training with Clickworker, and they will match you accordingly to your eligibility.
Online Surveys
Clickworker has started to offer online surveys since 2015.
Just a few years ago, there was a huge demand for online surveys, but since then, many companies have realized that there are cheaper ways to get real data and opinion.
So, online surveys is not that popular these days, and there isn’t much surveys opportunities going around.
And, if there is, the surveys will not pay much to be honest. You may be paid less than a dollar for completing a 15 to 20 mins survey.
Mobile Crowdsourcing
I guess this is something that you will do if you are at a tourist destination or a restaurant, and you happen to see a job opportunity on Clickworker.
But note, these jobs is very popular, and you have to reserve it beforehand.
The task includes taking a photograph (for example a menu, a tourist destination or a building) or verifying an address.
As simple as the tasks, you’ll be paid as little as a few cents.

How to Cash Out Your Earnings?
You can cash out your earning either via PayPal or direct bank wire transfer.
You need to earn at least $5 to cash out via PayPal, and a minimum of $10 for payments via bank account.
Why I Don’t Recommend Clickworker?
#1 Inconsistent Job Offers
A lot of Clickworkers are complaining that they do not have enough tasks to work on.
And this is simply because there are certain qualities needed for certain tasks.
Though the tasks are broken down into micro jobs, and they are supposed to be easy to complete…
It still requires a Clickworker to be qualified for the job.
Unfortunately, many Clickworkers are just not qualified enough.
As you know, you will have to take some assessments to determine your skill level on certain tasks. But, if you do not ace on those assessments, your chance of getting the jobs will be reduced.
#2 You are Paid Too Little for Your Skills
As I’ve mentioned above, if you have the quality of a writer or a proofreader, you can fetch a better income elsewhere.
Instead of being assessed on Clickworker and being paid pennies or a few bucks for a piece of work (like a 250 word article), you could easily earn 10 to 20 times offering your freelance services.
#3 Amount Paid does not justify the Time Spent
This goes hand-in-hand with #2.
Imagine writing a 250 word article and only get paid $2 to $3 for it.
Not forgetting the amount of time put into the research, planning and actually writing the article.
And, worst of all, your article will get proofread by other Clickworkers.
In my opinion, it is really not worth the time.
#4 You Risk Account Deactivation
For no reason at all, your account may be deactivated. Many Clickworkers have complained that their account are being deactivated just before they are able to cash out.
Imagine spending so much time and effort on Clickworker, and it turns out you can’t get paid.
This is probably the reason why so many people claimed that Clickworker is a scam.
What I Recommend?
Because of so many negative factors I’ve mentioned above, I do not recommend you to start with Clickworker.
To be honest, there are many better opportunities out there for you to earn money online.
And, one of the best ways is through affiliate marketing.
If you want to learn how to get started, I highly recommend that you check out this program.
Is Clickworker a Scam?
In my sincerest opinion, I think that Clickworker is not a scam, but there are many negative factors surrounding this online platform.
Though it is easy to join and it is free, the time and effort you spend on the platform do not justify the amount you are paid.
The worst is if you are not paid at all. Many people have been complaining that their accounts get deactivated for no good reason, and that is why the term “Clickworker scam” is born.
So, these are the factors you have to consider before joining Clickworker.
My Sincere Advice to You
Even if you have a lot of spare time on hand, I would not recommend that you start with Clickworker.
The reason is because you are not paid well enough for the skill that you have.
For example, if you have the quality as a writer, you can easily earn $30 to $50 for a 1,000 word article, and your quality of work will be determined by your clients. While in Clickworker, you are paid approximately $10 for a 1,000 word article, and your quality of work will be based on some simple assessment done at the account registration.
So, is it worth your time, I’ll let you decide.
Personally, I would prefer to learn how to build an online business based on my passion. Because it is a legitimate way to earn passive income in a long run.
And, it is how I earn a full-time income online as well. I’ve documented my online journey in this article, if you are interested.
