Is Advocare a scam?

My guess is that you are already an Advocare distributor or you are looking to join the company as a distributor.

You are in the right place because I am going to share with you what you need to know in order for you to make the right decision.

Fret not, if you are worried that Advocare is a scam, don’t be, because it is not, however, a word of advice is that do not join Advocare until you know what you are getting into.

Advocare-productsAdvocare is a legitimate Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Company that promotes a range of products spanning from slimming to Health and Wellness.

Their most unique selling point is their 24 Day Challenge, which is split into two phases, the Cleanse Phase and the Max Phase, I am sure you are aware of what it is.

This so called “unique selling point” is somewhat similar to other MLM companies like Le-vel Thrive with their 8 weeks Thrive Experience and Visalus with their 90 day Body by Vi Challenge. So, this “unique selling point” isn’t that unique after all, in fact, this marketing strategy is widely used in many MLM companies.

I have no doubt that the Advocare products can help people become healthy, but I do believe that there are other ways to be healthy without having to spend a fortune.

I am pretty sure your main aim for doing due diligence on Advocare, is whether or not you can make money with them, so I am here to debunk this opportunity and share with you the main reasons why most Advocare distributors failed in their business.

Before we dive into that, let us first understand the compensation plan of Advocare.

This Training Program has helped me and a thousand others make a Life Changing Income online. Find out how you can too!

The Advocare Compensation Plan

One thing I like about this opportunity is that the cost of starting up is low (at the front end).

Basically, you only need pay $79 to enrol as a distributor, and pay a yearly membership renewal fee of $50 to stay as an active member.

There are no requirement of a minimum purchase, auto-ship or quotas to hit.

However, if you want to be successful and profit from Advocare, you have to make a hefty investment in the products.

Advocare-profitingWhen you buy any products as a distributor, you get to enjoy a 20% discount, so when you sell the product to a non-member, you sell it at the full price and you profit from the difference.

The more you invest, the more discount you get, and therefore a higher profit margin. You can check out the picture on the right for the level of discounts against the amount of money invested in the products.

What do you do when you are not able to sell the products, wouldn’t there be a risk? Well, there is a 12 month money back guarantee if you couldn’t sell the products.

The company will buyback all the unsold products within 12 months on the condition that the product is still in its original form. Sounds good right?

So, in order to get the best profit margin from this opportunity, you are encouraged to invest $2,100 ($3,000 – 40% discount) to enjoy the biggest discount. Thereafter, sell those products are the market rate to make the profit.

Starting the Advocare business is easy, maintaining it and making it a success is a long and hard process.

In order to be successful in the Advocare business, you have to recruit people to the company as a distributor (a.k.a. your downline).

That way, when your downline make a sale on the Advocare products, you get a cut of their commission.

In other words, the more you recruit, the more money you make.

This compensation plan paints a rosy picture but when it comes down to the real work, you will soon realize that it is really difficult to maintain this business.

How are you going to promote the Advocare Products?

Lets now take a look at this video and you will understand a little bit more on how other Advocare distributors sell their products:

If you are already in the Advocare business, you will know the first thing you have to do in order to sell your products is to write down a list of contacts whom you think may be interested in the Advocare 24 Day Challenge.

Call each and everyone of them to fix an appointment (maybe together with the person who recruited you (“Sponsor”)) to share with them the “Amazing” challenge.

In the video above, it teaches you how to rely on your sponsor to sell the products for you.

The big question is, what if your sponsor is not a great salesperson and losses each and every prospect for you, or if your sponsor is never available for you?

Trust me, it happens. Who can you rely on next? The answer is quite obvious right? It’s you, trust yourself!

One simple fact you have to understand is that, when you join the Advocare business, you need to sell.

If you are uncomfortable in selling, it is really hard for you to succeed.

Many distributors join Advocare thinking that their sponsor can do all the talking and selling for them, but what they do not realize is that as they recruit more people, their recruits will rely on them.

If you do not become a good salesperson yourself, your business will fail eventually.

That is why your education on the Advocare business must be solid.

Joining the right team plays an important role in your success with the Advocare business.

Why most Advocare Distributors fail in their Business?

Team that puts their interest ahead of Yours

It is hard to find a team that puts your interest ahead of theirs.

Most of the time, sponsors focus on their own personal sales (i.e. product sales and recruitment) and neglects your growth.

Many newcomers who join Advocare could not find a proper channel for support and that is one of the main reasons they leave the business.

Lack of Prospects

Let me share with you a statistic of the recruitment rate from my past experience with similar businesses.

Out of 100 people you have on your prospect list, maybe only 20 people will be interested in the Advocare products (you will be surprise by the negativity people have on MLM products).

Out of the 20 people, probably only 3 will actually buy the products, and if you are lucky, you may get to recruit 1 person.

After you have expanded the list, what then? Where do you get new prospects? Do you continue to bug those people who have already rejected you, or do you canvass on the streets for new prospects?

This is a common problem Advocare distributors face, in fact, this is a problem that most MLM distributor face.

Learn how to generate unlimited amount of prospects

Afraid of Losing Friends and Family

One of the biggest dilemma in this business is that, on one hand you are trying to help your friends and family to stay healthy and make money at the same time, but on the other hand, your friends and family do not see it that way.

They see you as a pushy salesperson and may avoid you whenever you try to meet with them.

The fact is, in this business, you are bound to lose some friends and family members, if you are not prepared for this, you shouldn’t be in this business.

My Sincere Advice to You

Though Advocare is a legitimate MLM Company, and it offers an attractive compensation plan, it is really difficult to be find success in the opportunity.

Not everyone is cut out to be in the MLM industry. If you have the tenacity and believe you have what it takes to be successful in Advocare, that’s really great!

I look forward to see you succeed!

However, if you are still looking for a way to make money from the comfort of your home, I would encourage you to check out this program which taught me how to make thousands of dollars monthly online.

Hi all,

My wife got roped into the cult like crap years ago. It’s nothing more than B12, caffeine and sugar in almost everything. Just like all healthcare supplements, they’re nonsense. “Take this along with a healthy diet and exercise and you’ll look great and feel great”. Well of course you will. And there are the rival companies like Isagnenix. It’s all MLM, but they like to call it “direct sales”. That makes it sound better.

I made the huge mistake of letting my wife get into this stuff with my money years ago (that’s why I can say let her because it was my money, I’m not a chauvenist) She and a friend were lured into it by another woman at church. It’s always at a church it seems. Next thing you know they’re on a plane to Ft. Worth, Texas to learn more. Out there at the cult meeting they get everyone all amped up with motivational speakers and when my wife comes back she’s all excited and tells me she decided to become a full level distributor. So I ask what that means. You know what that means? That means she used my credit card to buy over $4,000 of crap to make the people over her a ton of commissions while our house was full of this junk she had to pressure other people to buy as a miracle cure.

After years of my wife falling prey to so many of these types of things usually aimed at the stay at home parent. I barely staved off the Essential Oils crap. I put my foot down along with my buddy and told her don’t even think about it. I told her if you buy anything we’re done. Period.

It’s all BS.

I was signed up as a fake Distributor by a person in my office who had access to my credit card and SS number. This scam took months to unravel. Advocare did nothing.the credit card company did nothing…
I filed criminal charges against this person…Kathryn Johnson…
However even with pending charges she is still an Advocare distributor. Beware of this scam

I had heard about these folks before and wondered is Advocare a Scam?
Thanks for bringing the MLM to light now I am much more able to understand some of the claims.
I too have tried many MLM opportunities and I always found myself in that 97% failure group on every occasion.
Unless you start the darn thing and are at the top of the Pyramid your chances of earning enough to replace a job or having thoughts of retirement probably won’t work out!
Thanks for your #1 Recommended, now that makes great sense!

Hi Jack, a very interesting and helpful article and thanks for sharing as I had never heard of it. What I am curious about is what happens after you buy their products. Will they deliver to you? Will you be responsible for storage? When you re-sell, will you then be responsible for sending the goods to your customer? How do they support you when you sell, but customer finds the product is not working properly? Cheers, Jerry

You have to buy the product yourself in order to sell it. You manage your own inventory and you delivery the products yourself. That is one of the disadvantage of the business. Hope this gives you more info on Advocare.

Very informative article 🙂

Lack of prospects is why I haven´t ever tried MLM and wouldn´t advise it to anyone really. Much better ways to make money from home.

That is true Cevin. There are definitely many other better options to make money from home. You can check this option out.
